Thank You Holly Golightly

"If I could find a real life place that
made me feel like Tiffany's then I'd
buy some furniture and
give the cat a name" (Holly Golightly)

I don't know many women whose heart doesn't
miss a beat when they see the famous turquoise
box from Tiffany.

If you are from my generation then
maybe it was the delectable Holly Golightly
who introduced you to the seductive
world of Tiffanys

Just take a look at the fab video below
about Tiffany.

Dream and indulge for just 7 minutes

What did you think?

Are you a Tiffany fan or not really?

Have you been to THE store on 5th Avenue?

I've been to the store in London,
but it just doesn't have the same
feeling for me as I am sure the original store
on 5th Ave would have.

Would love to hear your thoughts xx

  1. I love the movie a d the book - although the book portrays a slightly different Holly Gollightly.

As for Tiffany's, yup, it sure does take a little of my breath away but I'm not crazy about them as I used to be. Tiffany's also reminds me of the movie Sweet Home Alabama, when the shop gets closed down for when Reese W gets proposed to, how adorable!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

    1. Yes, I completely forgot about the film with Reese Witherspoon. I loved that film and the country-guy she fell in love with even more ;-)

  3. Hi Vanessa - I must be the only person left not to have seen that movie! But I enjoyed the little Tiffany film. I love a lot of their historical pieces - just gorgeous. I've been in one of the London stores (the one attached to Harrods) and thought it was nice, but the one at Terminal 5 at Heathrow is awful, with useless sales assistants. I wasn't buying - just spying! Their packaging is so distinctive, and I like that as well. Have a great week! x

    1. Hi SK!
I've only been to the one on Bond Street. Believe it or not I don't own anything from T. I am a chunky jewelry girl; statement pieces, and I find their pieces a little too "delicate" for my taste ;-)

  5. A friend of mine treasures the Tiffany box her engagement ring came in. :-) It was the first and only time I've ever seen the boxes. It DOES lend an added depth of excitement. :-)

    1. I think it's the color of the box Krista. It's now become synonymous with the store. That's great branding for you ;-)

  7. I don't own anything from Tiffany but I love their packaging. I read a cute little memoir a couple of years ago you might enjoy called, "Summer at Tiffany"...about 2 girlfriends in the late 1940s who moved to NYC to work at the store. Such a glamourous time to have worked there.

  8. Yes, I have been to that fabulous Fifth Avenue store ... and it feels like stepping a little away from reality because it's so famous ... I also SO enjoyed that little Tiffany blue-covered memoir by Marjorie Hart called Summer at Tiffany. I bought it a couple of years ago as my choice for a book club read, and I made bookmarks for the fifteen girls in the bookclub that were Tiffany Blue with a white satin ribbon swaying from one end and tied in the ribbon was a little faux-diamond ring! Marjorie Hart and her girlfriend were the first female paiges hired by Tiffany & Company in the forties and it's a charming story written by her later in life all about her exciting experiences at that time, just out of college. I think anyone who is a Tiffany fan would love this charming book! Have a lovely day, Vanessa!

  11. Yes, I buy all my Tiffany jewelry at the Fifth Avenue store because my best friend lives in Manhattan. I agree with Holly that Tiffany has an elegance and a certain safety that comes with excellent service. In so much of the world, people are fearful of being taken advantage of. The Fifth Avenue store does get it's share of denim clad tourists, but for the most part, the customers are ladies and gentlemen looking to invest in quality jewelry that will be passed down to future generations.

  15. I have been to the Tiffany's on 5th Avenue, and once you get beyond the tourists on the first floor it is a beautiful experience. I purchased a small bracelet there and I enjoyed the entire expedition.
