I'm talking about HAPPINESS you naughty minxes!!!
"Remember this, that very little is needed to
make a life happy" (Marcus Aurelius)
Happiness is there for the taking and the making
Children "get it". Why don't we?
"Happiness is when what you think, what you say and
what you do are in harmony" (Ghandi)

I have just one day, today and I'm going to be
happy in it" (Groucho Marx)

continuous small treats" (Iris Murdoch)

The perfect treat for summer
"The moments of happiness we enjoy take us
by surprise. It's not that we seize them, but they
seize us" (Ashley Montagu)
By the time you read this post, due to the sudden
extreme temperatures in Spain (42ºC the last
few days) I hope to be
experiencing this................
What's the ONE thing (other than family, friends and pets)
that gives you a boost of happiness no matter
how low you are feeling? Would love
to hear your comments x
42° in Spain and a totally cr..py spring here in France. Enjoy your salty toes and salty kisses !
ReplyDeleteTYSM The Silver Bunny. The heat is unbearable. Hope it gets better in France and thank you so much for popping over to my humble blog x
DeleteSunshine always makes me feel better. Always. :-) And hugs. :-)
ReplyDeleteTYSM Krista. Do you still have sunshine in Oz or is Autumn setting in?
DeleteJust being in warm sunshine generally makes me feel better Vanessa. Somehow, things always look better when the sun is shining and it makes me feel more optimistic. I'm going to Mallorca next week, it's the one time a year I get the chance to stalk Rafael Nadal! Don't even think about warning him! xx
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! I hope you are lucky with the weather AND with Rafa. Promise I won't tell him you are on your way xx
DeleteHappiness for me is Puerto Banus, 4th of Aug, can't wait! Also shoe and bag shopping and just looking at my kids, even the grown up ones! Hope you are well lovely x
ReplyDeleteYaaay! I do like PB also. You will be arriving in Spain as I am leaving ;-)
DeleteThe color of the ocean and the different shades of blue churning, clean water creates. I love the Caribbean for its gloriously blue water, so much so that I may need to go to your jewelry site and purchase those earrings...
ReplyDeleteLOL! Yes, turquoise seas do it for me every time. The best I've experienced was in the Maldives and some of the Greek islands ;-)
DeleteSuch a beautiful post, Vanessa...I love the quote by Gandhi...so true.
ReplyDeleteI hope you've had a lovely, happy weekend.

DeleteTYSM Leonie for stopping by. I LOVE Ireland, and one of my best friends lives in a small village in Cork which is absolutely gorgeous. Off course Hubs loves the stops we make in the pubs ;-)
DeleteI'm sooo with you!! Happy happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeletePS just had that molten chocolate cake today ;)
xo
Sharon
Oooh! so well deserved Sweets xx
DeleteHello my love! Hope all is good with you! Loved this post, it made me smile. We should be happy, least choose to be happy for the good vibes it gives us! I was just remembering that stats/research shows that a child laughs at least 300/400 times a day whilst adults laugh only a measley 15 times a day... ME? I'm silly so I like to laugh at every opp!
ReplyDeleteSticking on some comedy DVD'S, whilst tucking into a bucket load of ice-cream makes me very happy! That and when friends send my surprise care packages or a handwritten letter!
x.o.x.o
Hold that ice-cream, I'll be around ;-) xx
DeleteLove this post! For me, sunshine never fails to make me happy, Vanessa! Eating al fresco always makes me happy, as does allowing myself a delicious sweet treat (I have a thing for an occasional toasted coconut ice cream cone at a fave ice cream place in the summer) ... also, I find that little things we did as a child can bring sudden joy even as an adult! swinging, for instance! Have a wonderful week, sweet Vanessa!

ReplyDeletesweet post...I find if you start out the day jolly it works out well....some days easier than others! Have a great day!!
ReplyDeleteHope you're well. Been busy lately. Love that tea scene. The girl on the railroad tracks is beautiful, but I can't stand it when children are on railroad tracks. It bothers me. Now, that I"m writing and blogging, it makes me really happy in addition to the family like you stated. I also love the feeling of getting a new outfit or planning a trip.
ReplyDeleteOh that's easy!!! The beach!!! :) There's plenty more where that came from too. So many things make me happy and I'm fortunate enough to get to experience those things often. Happy girl I am :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a lovely week, sweetie! xoxo
This is beautiful, I must either bookmark or print out all these inspiring words of happiness! The picture with the little girl on the girl is just too cute! Hope you're well dear :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely and sweet inspiring post. There's nothing like happiness, even in the simplest of things. I love a good comedy film, and then there's champagne, which always makes me happy. Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteIf there's one thing that really make me happy and helps me forget all the bad things, it's curling up on the couch under a soft blanket, with a cup of delicious tea or hot chocolate, Bourbon biscuits from Marks & Spencer and an amazing book (Lunch in Paris, right now, or anything by Guillaume Musso or Marc Levy, in French, and anytime :) Thanks for reminding me of that, sweetie!

Oh Vanessa, I very much need to hear this today! The good old British weather has really been getting me down (42 degrees = very jealous me) but it’s just weather after all! Happiness for me is being curled up in the sun with a good book and a cold drink! :) Enjoy the weather!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Vanessa! I love those new earrings from your collection and the pic of the little girl laughing is just darling. Joy is contagious! :) Goodness, that chocolate lava cake is calling my name!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!

Hi Vanessa! Love the new earrings. Love the pics! Your pictures always capture what you are posting so well. There are lots of little things that make me happy besides my family and pets. But the one thing I always look forward to at the end of a busy day is a sweet cup of tea. That makes me very happy. Your post always make me smile.
