I am not the most romantic.
My Hubs is certainly more romantic
than me. However, I LOVE
being in love.
But love is so many different things
to different people.
For me it's not the roses, chocolates
or expensive gifts. It's must simpler than that.
Maybe it's:
*when you catch each others eye
in a crowd and know exactly what your
partner's thinking
*it's that lovely feeling of holding hands; that
warm, strong masculine grip that works every time

I recently found this fabulous blog
that epitomizes all that is LOVE.
that epitomizes all that is LOVE.
I cry every time I read the posts.
It really is unconditional love at it's most extreme.
You can't help reading the posts whilst
asking yourself "what if this were me?".
Pop over; I defy you not to shed a tear
or two (you may need to read the post of 4
October 2011 to get the gist of what has happened).
Next grab your favorite drink and take
5 minutes to watch this lovely video; it needs no words
I'm not romantic either but that Winnie the Pooh quote sums up everything i think about my husband too - it catches me at the back of my throat every time I see it.
ReplyDeleteMe too Tabs. Have a good Valentines Day x

DeleteLove this post, Van. You put into words how I feel about my marriage. I am not very romantic...it always feels so forced coming from me.
ReplyDeleteSo tragic about that family. Goes to show that life can change drastically in a moment.
Happy Valentine's Day!
xo, A

Will pop over Caroline to take a look. Thank you so much for the invite x
DeleteI am probably the least romantic person there is but I can appreciate when other people are. These are beautiful reasons to be in love! These are all the things that truly count in a relationship. I find that what media/music/movies/books portrays about love these days is very shallow. Have a wonderful weekend hun!
ReplyDeleteVanessa, that's definitely what love is! I'm a romantic, unfortunately I haven't connected with anyone. I've tried! Hopefully one day. LOL Wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day and lovely weekend doll.

I have followed anecdotes of a manic mum for a while now and it is an example of complete and under unconditional love. Every post completely moves me. She is amazing xxx
ReplyDeleteI stopped being romantic when I started dating my now husband. I discovered what grown-up love was all about, and I no longer needed "romance"; what I receive from my husband is much more real. I most resonate with your example above of "someone having your back." Flowers are nice (I buy them for myself), and chocolates last 2 minutes and require cardio to burn off. Someone having your back and telling you things you need to hear (sometimes not what you want to hear) is true partnership and fulfilling. It makes the cuddling in front of a movie all the more sweet!
ReplyDeletevery fun video
