Dreams

I was a little lost for inspiration this week (blog posts don't come easily for me).
Then I remembered this fab short video I saw (you only need 4 minutes to watch it).
It's about the founder of Spanx! Yes, I have worn them on  occasion too ;-)

What are your dreams?
What have you really wanted to do but
have been put off, either by others telling you it won't
work, or because your own inner-talk has talked you out of it?

Are you ready yet to make the leap?

I can't wait to hear your thoughts Lovelies

  1. Gosh I am just not a go getter at all, I've never really had any dreams or ambitions or maybe I haven't allowed myself to have any....

    1. That's quite surprising Tabs. I thought of you in the totally opposite way ;-)
It hasn't done you any harm because you clearly have a GIFT for writing xx

  2. My biggest dream has always been to write: no matter if it's articles, blog posts or books, I've always dreamed of becoming an author. Somehow I never believed that I could become one (confidence issues, anyone?) Paradoxally, it took me being jobless to start a blog that blossomed into a career: it gave me the confidence to believe in my dreams, and I wish one day I'll have a book (or ten :) with my name on it :)

  3. Thanks for the video and the beautiful pictures. The things I kept thinking while watching Sara Blakely ? "Gosh, she has beautiful hair" and "Aren't her teeth white ?". I didn't find her inspiring at all. Of course, she was there to talk about her business but I thought she lacked empathy and natural. She would definitely not be someone I would admire. Through my job, I see lots of young people who are just struggling to become good, responsible persons and THAT is to be admired. As for me, I would just like to become who I really am. I find that difficult enough ! P.S. : Sorry for the long comment, very pompous of me !

    1. Lovely to hear you comments. If she didn't inspire you that's fine. She definitely inspired me; just her creativity, how she found a niche that was "unfilled" and went for it. Of course, young people struggling to become "good responsible persons" are also to be admired. But for me personally there is whole remit from whom we can learn different things from.

  4. Hi Vanessa, I was surprised to read that blog posts do not come easily to you. You so great at this! Always so inspiring. Oh there is so many things I've wanted to do, but let obstacles get in the way. I love makeup, hair, and fashion so much always thought I do something in that field, but I guess it was in my cards to be a stay at home....homeschooling mom. Which I feel blessed to be able to do. Although one never knows what the future holds. Thanks for the inspiration.

    1. Hi Dee. But hey! look at what you've started to do recently with Avon. Isn't that part of your dream? The Universe/God has it's own timetable, but you never know when the doors will start to open xx

    2. That is so true Vanessa.....God does has his own timetable and he's usually right. xx

  7. Dearest Vanessa, your posts are always inspiring, uplifting and motivating! and often I find myself scrolling through your past posts when I'm needing a little motivation or inspiration. It's hard to imagine you with a little writer's block, but I guess we are all human.

I'm once again at a bend in this journey of life, and more determined than ever to move forward and get my first book completed. I've sent the end of this year as my Target Timeline.

Thank you for sharing this inspiring video ... there is opportunity in everything around us. It really is up to us to recognize it and grab it with all our might. Many blessings to you my dear friend! xo C. (HHL)

    1. TYSM darling Celia. You know more than many of us how we can be thrown a curve-ball and how hard it is to sometimes get back on track. But when you do reach the finish line, that's what makes the goal all the more sweet xx

  8. Yet another inspiring post - that almost makes me wanna take that risk you're talking in this post! With so much uncertainty right now taking a risk just seems a little scary right now. (I think you know what I mean)

I still think we should get SK here to write a book - I'd probably die laughing!

  9. I’ve had a big idea floating around in my head for a while now but I am just too chicken to take the leap. I am hoping my time will come soon – a bit of motivation like this certainly helps!

  10. What an inspiring woman! I don't know if I feel like I can take on the world or if I should just bang my head on my desk because all of my "brilliant" ideas are my employers property. LOL.

Hope you're having a great week, love! xoxo
