This 2013, I wish for you..................
the joy of always having someone to share things with
that sometimes, just sometimes you can buy what
you REALLY want, not what will do
Mui Mui
Alexander McQueen Skull Clutch
the joy of opening a favorite book, the soothing
first page, the first familiar words
the joy of your footsteps being the first in
freshly fallen snow
the joy of the perfectly made coffee on a cold,
Winters morning
the joy of living in the moment
(just watch how a child does this ;-)
the joy of finding the perfect present
the joy of of finding exactly the right retort-
succinct, memorable and at the exact time,
and not half an hour too late
(as usually happens to me ;-)
the joy of Spring and how it is
always better than you dared expect
the joy of being necessary to someone
the joy of the perfect reading nook where you
can escape from every day "noise" and disappear
into the pages of your book
But most of all I wish that in 2013 there will always be something you want to learn,
something you want to do, somewhere you want to go, someone you want to meet,
and that whatever happens this year you continue to grow and find your bliss.
What do you wish for yourself this 2013?
p.s do pop over to macarons and pearls and see my lovely interview with Ivana; read all about my favorite things in life ;-)

Beautiful post, Vanessa! I'm so happy that it's the beginning of a brand new year. Last year was a difficult one. Looking forward to better luck and health for loved ones and a reinvigorated creative soul :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, sweetie! xoxo
Great to see you back Dawn. How missed you've been ;-) xx
DeleteGorgeous post Vanessa...so many things I love here....definitely the opening of a favourite book and the perfect coffee...and we've even managed the first footsteps in the snow...perfect!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.

xx
We have a lot in common Catherine ;-) Hope your weekend was blissful too xx
DeleteAww thanks for this awe-inspiring post Vanessa, it was the silver lining in my day, my week actually. All these beautiful and meaningful wishes, i wish the same for you!
ReplyDeleteAwwh! TYSM Sam. You are always so sweet xx
DeleteThis is lovely, Vanessa! I especially loved the point on being able to buy what you have your heart set on and not just what will do. I always buy within my means and select the best of the options I have available (and I'm known to use coupons to make some of my favorite things more affordable) which I'm quite happy with, but every once in a while it's such a great feeling to be able to splurge and get exactly what you want after saving up and not flinching because it's full price. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat reply Karla and thank you for being "necessary" for me this week ;-) xx
DeleteBeautiful, Vannessa. I love the 1st pic with the hair braided together. xx's
ReplyDeleteTYSM Marsha. Hope you are feeling much better now :-) xx
DeleteI wish for a courageous heart - and I can already see it growing. :-) These wishes are beautiful, luv, just beautiful. I'm also wishing for a cozy reading nook. I'm working on that. :-) xo
ReplyDeleteKrista you already have a very courageous heart after all you've been through. Give yourself credit for that already xx
DeleteGood evening, Vanessa!!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to meet you! I wonder, have we crossed paths before? You seem to know I quit my teaching job...
It has been a big transition and will continue to be a journey of self-discovery. Yes, those cards are in my Etsy shop and they are my illustrations! I have many goals that I want to accomplish, and as a substitute teacher, I now have the "luxury" of carving out more time to write and use my art in some capacity.
Thank you for visiting and your photo choices are marvelous!!
Yes, I think our paths crossed over on the Enchanted Home blog and I've been following your "transition" ever since. It was such a brave and admirable thing to do; give up the salary and follow your dream. Your cards are lovely and I'm going to check out your Etsy shop this week xx
DeleteGood Morning my dearest Vanessa,
ReplyDeleteTruly a beautiful post of images and words to start off my day along with my morning cafe. I wish all the above for you, as well mon ami. Your "the joy of being necessary to someone" statement is exactly what I to feel lots of throughout 2013 ~ I really hope to make a difference in the life of others who are facing the challenges of transition in life that I have and want to grow and became even greater - in spite - of what detour they unwilling found themselves on. Many blessings to you my friend...Hugs across the miles, xo C. (HHL)
Hi lovely Celia. I was listening to Tony Robbins on CNN today who was saying the very same thing as you above. "It doesn't matter how much you've been through, if you can find a "mission" bigger than yourself, your life will have meaning again". It's so true and I know you could make such an impact on so many lives as you already do with your writing. Keep taking baby steps Angel and you will get there xx
DeleteSuch lovely images in this post ~ I love it! I have not been over for awhile but always it when I do. Hope you have had the most wonderful weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteTYSM Lori. Hope you pop by again ;-) xx

DeleteHi Vanessa, I haven't been on twitter in a few days and popped over to your blog and it was just what I needed. Happy words and well wishes. This made my day! Thank you.

Hi Vanessa, sweets ... I LOVE all of those wishes, do you think they'll all come true? (hope hope!) Thanks for stopping by, love, and for your compliment on the illustraiton ... love that Posh Frosting is a client of yours as well! ;) Right now, as I sit here, I'm totally exhausted, been working on a huge project with a looming deadline so stopping by for some sweet wishes from my bud is just what the doctor ordered! I just came from Ivana's blog post that's up now, but it wasn't your interview ... I'll have to look back and read! xoxo ~S
