I Forgive Myself For...........

As I race through each week at break-neck speed, I seem to constantly live in a state of guilt for all the things I should or shouldn't have done.

So I am going to.....

............ forgive myself for not phoning back a friend who
only ever phones me when she has a problem (do you
have these friends?)

.......... I forgive myself for undermining my worth by sometimes
comparing myself to others success

.......... I forgive myself for getting irritated with an elderly parent
simply because his brain was not working as fast as mine

....... I forgive myself for being 20 mins into a car journey and
not admitting to Hubs I was holding the map upside down

......... I forgive myself for not following up my dental appointment. I have put
"Dr Teeths" children through private school since living in Spain. So I decided
I'm not putting them through University also ;-)

......I forgive myself for using hormones as an excuse
for my "usual" crazy madness

......I forgive myself for burning my chocolate puddle desserts
because I was distracted on Pinterest, but telling Hubs they are meant to be
slightly crunchy ;-)

.......I forgive myself for running through life so fast that
I not only forget where I've been, but also where I'm going

.........I forgive myself for never sticking to a blogging schedule
(I'm convinced my followers don't really care)

......I forgive myself for only being able to think about what I was
going to have for lunch during a meditation class, because
I was SO hungry. Enlightenment passed me by yet again!

.......I forgive myself for bumping into an old client and all
through the conversation I was only trying to remember her
name. The worst thing was she remembered mine
and everything about me

.......I forgive myself for giving up when I still had something to
give, but tiredness got the better of me.

So my Lovelies, what do you forgive yourself for?

C'mon confess, and
just let it go :-)

  4. i think forgiving yourself is the thing we all need to do because we have to take care of ourselves and cannot do it with hatred towards ourselves!

  5. Beautiful list. I forgive myself for not seeing "obvious" things sooner.

  6. Well, I'm guilty of not know how to work google maps on the smartphone on the way to Charlotte last weekend. Thanks Vanessa for you comment on my FB page. I appreciate it. The person who did my photos is also a designer so she was able to get into blogger, and tweak the lay-out for me, and design a header. I am happy with it. Thank you!

  7. I forgive myself for letting sadness get the upper hand for far too long. AND for forgetting to be thankful EVERY DAY. :-) xo btw - I don't care WHEN you blog, only that you do. :-) Your posts make me happy. Always. :-)

    1. TYSM Krista-you always say the loveliest things. I certainly second you on the second sentence re being thankful every day for all I have xx

  8. Hi dear, another amazing inspiring list...I loved nr 2. I feel like you need to publish all these personal sayings for yours in a book or calendar of some sort...what do you think?

    1. TYSM beautiful girl! I've never really thought about publishing my ramblings ;-) It's definitely something to ponder xx

    1. We are so alike I think Sandy;we all tend to worry about the same things etc. Pleased you enjoyed it Sweets xx

  10. HI Vanessa! Oh I love this one! I have to tell you, I really laughed out loud when I read about over cooking things because you were stuck on the computer. That has happened to me and I'm sure many others. I've also made up my own little white lies as to why things are a little extra crispy. This post makes me think of a book by Teri Hatcher "Burnt Toast" I'll send you the amazon link on twitter. It's about how women take the back seat and put everything first...everyday struggles working, cooking, pets dying, family things, errands etc. Like we're wonder woman. I believe the reason it's called Burnt Toast is because if you were making toast for your family and pieces were burnt most woman would take them and give the good ones to their family. You get what I mean. I haven't read the book yet, but plan to...when I can find the time. LOL

    As always thanks for sharing
    Dee xoxo

    1. TYSM for the link Dee. I had thought about buying it when it first came out but thought it might just be another celeb vacuous memoir. I shall certainly check it out now, as I know we have a similar taste in books. TYSM for the recommendation AND for always popping over to my blog and supporting my ramblings (because that's all they are at the end of the day ;-)

  11. It's so important to forgive yourself because all of that guilt and negativity can wear you down! I try to forgive myself but often beat myself up over the silliest things. Usually has to do with diet and not beng disciplined about taking care of things/projects at home. I have to learn to forgive! :) xoxo

  12. Thank you so much for your honesty! It makes us all feel so much better about ourselves and connected! I try to forgive myself for getting jealous of people who do amazing things with their life....but deep down I'm really happy for them and I get crazy inspired to go out there and get the most out of life myself!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

  13. JUST had one of these day .. just the other day. I love to "forgive" and wallow in it, then I move on - feels good to recognize you need a moment!

  17. I can so relate to this post on so many levels...thank you for sharing and being honest...I mean how many times have I been distracted on the computer/pinterest/twitter??? LOL

It's so important to let go of the guilt... which is living rent free in you by the way! I am currently there too, playing catch up and dealing with un-replied emails... somtimes you have to find the right balance for you and also step away from the computer!

  18. It's always a pleasure to read your posts Vanessa and I, myself, don't follow a blogging schedule and I really don't know if others do too. I related to each picture and word of this post. I smiled because I knew how you felt with every word you wrote. Thank you for helping me remember to be kind to myself and to let go and just forgive. I'm suffering from PMS right now and it just seems to suck the life out of me. This post definitely helps.

Big hugs to you! And thank you for your comps on my photos! Food and travelling are my passions!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Your comments make my day!
